From Property to Purpose: Capital PropFund Driving Daily Impact

Real impact starts with deliberate investment in communities.

This month, we shine a spotlight on Capital PropFund, also known as Fortress Real Estate Investments, for their growing commitment to strengthening food security through our Beneficiary Organisation network.

What began with just two sponsorships has expanded to support 34 beneficiary organisations across several provinces, including Gauteng, the Western Cape, North West, the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, and Mpumalanga.

These organisations receive monthly food support through FoodForward SA, helping them address food insecurity in the communities they serve.

Through this partnership, Fortress, FoodForward SA, and the supported organisations collectively provide food to approximately 2,600 people every day. That means families with greater stability, children who can focus at school, and community programmes that can operate with consistency.

The impact is felt directly by the organisations serving communities on the ground.

“We have seen brighter smiles, better concentration, and a renewed sense of hope among the kiddies. This support truly means more than words can express,” says Arianne Hayes-Hill at Seedfund.

“Because of your partnership, we are able to provide consistent, nutritious meals, reduce hunger, and bring hope and dignity to households facing daily challenges. Your contribution is not only feeding families, but also building a stronger, more resilient community,” says Lisa Campos, CEO and Co-Founder of PINC.

“Your thoughtful contribution does more than simply fill plates; it strengthens the well-being of each girl in our care,” says Smangele Sereku from The House Group CYCC.

Building Stronger Communities Together

Fortress’s approach reflects long-term thinking. By investing in food security in communities connected to their property footprint, they are contributing to stronger, more resilient local economies.

The impact is practical and immediate. It reaches thousands of people daily and strengthens the foundation on which communities grow.

We extend our sincere thanks to Capital PropFund for expanding their commitment this year and for standing alongside us in the fight against hunger.

How the Sponsorship Model Works

Covering the annual fees for beneficiary organisations strengthens communities from the ground up.

Many corporates choose to sponsor organisations in areas where they operate, or where they see the opportunity to create meaningful social return. By covering the annual fees for one or more organisations within our network, sponsors ensure continued access to nutritious food through our Foodbanking programme.

This means beneficiary organisations can focus fully on delivering vital services to their communities without worrying about administrative costs. Sponsorship options are tailored according to the size, location, and category of each organisation, ensuring support is strategic, relevant, and impactful.

This approach allows corporates to invest in community resilience in a way that is simple, measurable, and directly empowering for the organisations they support.
