At FoodForward SA, we are constantly inspired by our corporate partners who combine generosity with action.

Over the past year, nearly 1,000 Capitec employees volunteered with us and hosted two on-site corporate packing events at their Stellenbosch office. Together with their staff, they helped pack hundreds of food boxes and also organised a food drive, providing an additional 1,069.5 kg of essential staples for families in need, equivalent to 4,278 meals.

In Cape Town, volunteers also played an active role in our Food Gardens Connect programme, planting seedlings and providing ongoing support throughout the year according to seasonal and gardening needs.

Capitec’s impact extends beyond festive giving. In the Northern Cape, their support enables our Northern Cape Schools Feeding Scheme to provide daily meals to 4300 learners across six high schools in the Francis Baard Municipality. These schools do not qualify for the National School Nutrition Programme, making this support essential. Thanks to this partnership, children start their day with nutritious meals that help them focus, improve attendance, and participate more fully in class. This milestone reflects a strong collaboration between Capitec, FoodForward SA, and the Northern Cape Department of Education.

Capitec’s hands-on approach of actively involving staff in volunteering and contributing resources demonstrates a deep commitment to community upliftment and to investing in the potential of South Africa’s future leaders.
