As the festive season commences, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to you, our donors, partners, volunteers, service providers and beneficiaries. Your generosity and support have made a significant impact on FoodForward SA and the lives of those we serve.
Working towards the Sustainable Development Goals

Thanks to your support, we can continue to work towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals: addressing food insecurity (SDG2: Zero Hunger), reducing food loss and waste (SDG 12: Responsible Production & Consumption) and helping mitigate the harmful effects of climate change (SDG 13: Climate Action).
Key milestones achieved this year
So far this year, your support and partnership have enabled us to distribute over 66,5 million meals for orphans, vulnerable women, the elderly, the disabled, people with chronic illnesses, and those who are simply destitute.
We reached a milestone in May by opening our ninth warehouse, in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, and also launched our Mother & Child Nutrition Programme which provides at-risk pregnant women and children in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape with life-saving, safe nutritious food.
We continued to address food insecurity in poverty-struck rural areas and intervened in disaster-affected communities with sustained food support. Events such as Mandela Day and World Food Day helped us raise awareness about the problem of hunger on our doorstep and we are so grateful to all the volunteers who came out in their thousands to these events!

We are proud to have launched our 2022/2023 Annual Report. We are excited to share that we are launching a new pilot project – Food Gardens Connect – that teaches unemployed people regenerative agriculture and food garden techniques to improve the nutritional status of their communities and support income generation.

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for supporters like you who believe in the power of alleviating hunger in South Africa. Your kindness and generosity inspire us to continue our mission with passion and purpose!
Looking forward to joining hands in the new year

We wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season filled with love, warmth, and moments of shared happiness. May the coming year bring you abundant blessings and fulfilment. Next year, we celebrate our 15th anniversary, and we look forward to continuing to join hands with you in the fight against hunger.
Warmest wishes,
The FoodForward SA team
