What Happens When 5,200 People Give Just 67 Minutes? Something extraordinary!
This Mandela Day, more than 5,200 volunteers came together in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban with one shared purpose: to help ensure that quality food reaches South Africans who need it most.
Together, they sorted and packed more than 300 tonnes of nutritious food, providing an incredible 1.2 million meals that will be distributed through FoodForward SA’s network of more than 2,200 beneficiary organisations.
Behind every meal is a person who is better equipped to face difficult circumstances, a child better able to concentrate at school, and a community organisation able to continue serving those who rely on it. The collective effort of our volunteers, corporate partners, sponsors, donors, and supporters will help strengthen feeding programmes that reach more than 862,820 people every day.
The day was a powerful reminder that when thousands of people unite behind a shared purpose, even a small act of service can create lasting change.
To our donors, sponsors, corporate partners, and supporters, thank you for making this impact possible. And to every volunteer who gave their 67 minutes, thank you for your time, energy, and commitment. Together, you have helped bring hope, dignity, and nutritious food to thousands of households across South Africa.
Every smile, every box packed, and every minute shared helped make a difference.
