Lewe in Liefde is an NGO that lives up to its name – dedicated to promoting love, dignity, and sustainable poverty eradication.
Based in Middelburg, Mpumalanga Lewe in Liefde (Live in Love) joined FoodForward SA as a beneficiary organisation (BO) in January 2021 and runs a weekly feeding scheme serving 1800 people.
In addition to feeding nearly 2000 food-insecure people in their community, the organisation also established the Koinonia Farm, which serves as a shelter for destitute people.

The shelter offers three nutritious meals, ensures a safe environment for its beneficiaries, and provides a skills development training programme along with a vegetable garden where beneficiaries actively participate.
In preparation for Mandela Day, Lewe in Liefde is organising an Ubuntu-inspired event to feed people in need and distribute essential packs containing non-perishable food, toiletries, clothing, and children’s treats.
Supporting Lewe in Liefde’s Mission
To support this initiative, Lewe in Liefde is collecting donations of toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and razors, as well as blankets, scarves, beanies, and clothing for men, women, and children. They also welcome donations of children’s toiletries and toys.

If you’re unable to join FoodForward SA’s Mandela Day packing events across the country but still wish to volunteer your 67 minutes and make a meaningful impact, consider joining Lewe in Liefde, one of our beneficiary organizations, in their mission to create positive change and uplift their community through compassion and action.
