We’re starting off the year with exciting new developments. Two of our key programmes—the Mobile Rural Distribution (MRD) and the Mother and Child Nutrition Programme—are growing, and we’re thrilled to share the progress.
Expanding the Mobile Rural Distribution Programme
Our MRD programme has officially expanded to the Northern Cape, reaching new underserved communities in Kuruman. This programme helps us deliver nutritious food directly to areas where access is limited, allowing us to reach people who are often left out of traditional food supply chains. We’ve already partnered with 15 new beneficiary organisations (BOs) in the region who received their first delivery in January. Our goal is to extend our reach to more underserved areas across the country, ensuring that healthy food is accessible to all.

Fighting Malnutrition with the Mother and Child Nutrition Programme
Meanwhile, in January, we also saw the successful delivery of our first food boxes to 50 mothers and their children in De Doorns as part of our Mother and Child Nutrition Programme. Working in partnership with Grow Great and the Department of Health, we’ve been able to provide vital nutrition to babies under five and their mothers. These families will receive high-protein food each month, ensuring their children get the nourishment they need for healthy growth and development during those crucial first 1000 days.

Both programmes highlight our commitment to tackling food insecurity and malnutrition, and with your support, we can continue to make an even bigger impact in 2025.
