Why I Give

Each month, we highlight our generous donors who help us make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people across South Africa. One of them, a teacher that lives in Centurion, Gauteng, shares why she donates to FoodForward SA.

I did not want to donate any money to state groups, for obvious reasons, and your group seemed to be above board. The goods get to the people who really need it!

My biggest motivation for donating is when I see results, experience openness and transparency and because I get to be part of a working organisation. I appreciate the time you take to send me a personal thank you letter me every time I donate.

Although I can only donate a few Rands, I believe that helping with food distributions at a FoodForward SA warehouse and communicating with potential donors and needy people who might need the support of their beneficiary organisations is also helpful.

Both my grannies were part of the SAVF (Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie) and they worked really hard to establish nursery schools and old age homes. Charity is important to me too. I’m also involved in the bread tags/bottle caps drive to enable the donation of wheelchairs.

Thank you, to this month’s featured donor, for helping us work towards our vision of a South Africa without hunger. We know from our communication with you that you would be happy if someone says of you that “she tried”.  Thank you for trying and for trusting us with your time and generosity.
