At FoodForward SA, we strive to combat hunger, while protecting the environment, and creating a sustainable future for all. Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Fijnveld Farm and bring delicious mandarins packed with essential Vitamin C to those in need.
Through our efficient logistics and infrastructure, we were able to collect, inspect, sort, and redistribute 3.5 tons of these nutritious fruits within two days.
Benefits of Donating Surplus Food:
By working with food supply chain partners such as farmers Mark and Sue, FoodForward SA is able to provide nutritious meals to nearly 1 million people daily. Choosing to donate surplus food not only helps those facing hunger but also brings numerous benefits to the farmers.
By ensuring that every effort they put into growing these nutritious fruits is valued and by not dumping edible surplus produce, they are protecting and sustaining the environment. Additionally, farmers who choose to donate receive a Section 18a tax certificate for their contribution. This certificate recognizes their generous act and can have financial benefits for them as well.

Together, by repurposing surplus food, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those facing hunger. Beyond that, this collaborative effort allows us to protect the environment by minimizing food waste and supporting sustainable practices.
