As winter tightens its grip across South Africa, the demand for food assistance rises sharply—particularly among vulnerable communities facing food insecurity daily. At FoodForward SA, we are witnessing an unprecedented increase in the number of people turning to our beneficiary organisations for support, and they in turn reaching out to us for assistance.
We need your help! If you know a farmer, or work at a fresh produce pack house, or at a food producer, that has edible surplus food for whatever reason, please encourage them to reach out to us. We are able to collect that food and get it to communities that need it.
Food donations can make a direct and lifesaving impact. Through our network of over 2,500 beneficiary organisations (BOs) across all nine provinces, we are currently reaching more than 935,000 vulnerable people daily, including schoolchildren, the unemployed, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those experiencing homelessness and chronic poverty.
Why Your Donation Matters
- One tonne of food can provide 4,000 meals
- We take care of the logistics and redistribution, making it simple for you to give
- You contribute to reducing food waste and its detrimental environmental impact
- You receive a tax certificate for your donations
Whether you’re managing excess stock, seasonal produce, or production overruns, we can collect and repurpose these goods efficiently and responsibly. Together, we can ensure no good food goes to waste while no person goes hungry.
