The Community Action Partnership (CAP) is committed to creating a community where every individual, including those with disabilities, has access to the essentials needed for a dignified life.
Based in Swellendam, CAP is a registered non-profit organisation operational across the Western Cape. Through initiatives like food parcels, a clothing bank, and ongoing community support, CAP empowers the most vulnerable members of their community. At the heart of their mission is a commitment to inclusion and being a beacon of hope.
A significant factor in highlighting CAP’s impact has been their partnership with FoodForward SA as one of our 2500 beneficiary organisations.

CAP runs several impactful programmes:
The CAPability programme provides a protective workshop for 30 adults with disabilities. The workshop is a production line for Kent Flowers and supports in packing and distributing aid to the community when required.
CAP Day Care & Special Care offers full-day services for adults with disabilities, not yet ready for the workshop, and children with severe disabilities, focusing on care, nutrition, and exercise.
Through CAPEquip, the organisation runs a job readiness and skills development programme aimed at unemployed youth in Swellendam and Bredasdorp, equipping them for future employment opportunities.
The Changemakers programme works across six schools in the Swellendam community to reduce school dropouts. The focus is on supporting the whole child, working with accurate data, accountability, relationship building and an enrichment mindset.
Lastly, Canolees and Canotel run literacy and numeracy programmes in 9-12 primary schools in the Western Cape, following the “Teaching at the Right Level” model to ensure all learners receive the targeted support they need to succeed.
